ABOUT US
Who are you flying with?
This is probably one of your most important questions.
Adelaide Air Charter (Dick Lang’s Desert-Air and Dick Lang’s Bush Pilots), is South Australia’s oldest continuously owned and operated aircraft company – in fact, since 1967.
Dick Lang is an International Airline Licensed pilot
Other staff have similar very high qualifications and come from such diverse backgrounds as the Royal Flying Doctor Service, etc. They are all experienced with sound judgement, excellent flying skills and outstanding Outback (and capital city ) knowledge. We cannot employ training pilots or inexperienced pilots on our large twin-engined aircraft.
With a business that has operated for over forty years, they know that they must be doing the right thing. In the past, they have operated and owned four of the wonderful old DC-3’s.
Dick and Helen Lang have operated several successful companies, all specialising in the Australian Outback – Desert-Trek Australia Pty Ltd, Desert-Air Safaris Pty Ltd and even overseas – Afro-Trek Zimbabwe Pty Ltd and Afro-Trek Botswana Pte Ltd.
They have been operating continuously in Papua New Guinea for thirty years – one of the harshest flying countries in the world.
They are South Australian born and bred and use Adelaide as their home base.
They know South Australia and the Outback like no others do!
